Sea Scout Ship Kansan history collection, 1930-1938 (bulk 1936).

The collection consists of logs from the Sea Scout ship Kansan (SSS Kansan). The ship, skippered by William Menninger, was the national flagship for three years, 1931-1933. The log books are much like scrapbooks, providing information about the history and activities of the Sea Scout troop, including individual record sheets for members of the Scouts; photographs; newspaper clippings; programs, newsletters, & other printed materials; reports; rules; and other such materials. Can also include information about and materials from other Sea Scout troops around the United States.
